Privacy Policy

Shooters Pocket Diary is intended for people aged 18 and over. We ask you to confirm your age with a mandatory checkbox when you create an account, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

You can create an account either with Google Sign-In (we verify the Google ID token on our server and create your account directly) or with an email address and password, in which case we send a 6-digit one-time code to your email that you must verify before your account is created. If you later sign in with Google using the same email address as an existing password account, the two are linked automatically as one account. Your password is never stored in plain text; we hash it before saving it. We never send OTP codes by phone or SMS.

Account information (email address, name, and any profile details you choose to add, such as date of birth or a profile photo; these are optional and can be added later from your Profile tab), your diary entries (practice and match sessions, scores, and notes), content you post such as blogs, range reviews, circulars and marketplace listings, messages you send through our contact form, and basic technical/usage data collected automatically through Firebase Analytics and, if you enable notifications, a device messaging token through Firebase Cloud Messaging.

Your account and diary data is stored in MongoDB Atlas. Photos and other files you upload (such as a profile photo) are stored in Cloudflare R2. Both are managed infrastructure providers we use to run Shooters Pocket Diary; we do not sell your data to anyone.

In the app: free accounts see ads served through Google AdMob, which can process device identifiers (such as the advertising ID) and usage data under Google’s own terms to serve and measure ads. Premium removes these ads.

On this website: some public pages (blogs, notices and ranges) show ads served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google’s Ad Settings, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Premium is an optional subscription in the app. It removes ads and unlocks advanced progress charts and diary export (PDF and CSV). It is billed through Google Play Billing: Google handles the payment and we never see or store your card details. We receive a purchase token from Google to verify and keep your subscription status up to date. Everything else, including the rules library and search, is free.

You can request a copy of your data, or permanently delete your account from the app's Profile settings or from our Delete Account page if you no longer have the app installed. Confirming starts a 30-day grace period. Signing back in during that window cancels the deletion. After that, your account, profile, diary data, and any profile photo are permanently and irreversibly removed.
